Surprise your guests with the latest home decor ideas

Lynne Tocchet, the director of interior design at Pacaso, says that green is going to be the colour of the year in our homes’ interior design ideas. ‘ Greenery will never go out of style, and it will always be in style with people. There isn’t much green around us in the winter, so we want our interior decor to make us think of a warm summer day. This could be the colour of furniture, the colour of cabinets, or even small decor items. Greenery is always at the centre of design, no matter what other trends are around it or add to it. We will see that even more in the new year.

This is a list of some of the best new ideas for home decor that will make your guests go “wow.”

1. Color Joyfully

Color can have a huge impact on mood and well-being – that’s a fact! For the first time in history, it’s been so easy and fun to both feel good and make your home look great this season thanks to bright colours. Use different shades of the same colour to add interest, optimism, and vibrancy to every room. This trend is all about colour blocking and active colour therapy, and it’s all about expressing your home’s personality through active colour therapy.

Whether you’re going for a maximalist look or going for bold pops of colour, mixing super-bright colours with a few more muted ones will keep things just right.

2. Curved Headboards

People are moving away from square-shaped beds and toward headboards with interesting curves. They say that this shape works well with velvets in both pastel and bold colours, which makes a bold statement in a simple bedroom scheme, like this one from Button and Sprung.

3. Natural materials and textures are used

As you slow down, bring nature into your home with honest materials and tactile textures in a palette of calming neutrals that will make your home look and feel more like nature. In 2022, a lot of people will be decorating their living rooms in ways that make them more balanced, thought-out, and sensory-filled.

4. Sculptural Vases

Beautiful DIY vases and vessels have become their own personalities in response to the Insta “shelfie” trend. They show off abstract shapes and voluptuous curves in a wide range of bright and cheery colours and patterns. It’s easy to make your sideboard or shelving unit look more interesting by adding wacky and wild characters to it.

5. Design and Spaces That Are Multifunctional

This is a good time to use every square inch of space in our homes to its fullest. It doesn’t matter if you have double-purpose rooms or furniture that can be used for more than one thing, modern room-dividing tactics are here to stay. Why not look at how much vertical space your room has? Then, buy some shelving, ladders, and platforms to add layers to your decor. Mirrors are a great choice because not only do they look good but they also reflect light and make small rooms look bigger.

6. Glass Lighting

In 2022, pendant lighting is going to look a lot different than it does now. There will be a lot more attention paid to individuality, form, and function in the designs. The use of glass in lighting becomes more interesting when it allows for a deep warming hue with a wide range of colour and texture.
